Understanding Karma: A commentary on the teaching subject by Lama Mark Webber<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Foundation for the Five Seals of Dharma Realization is the understanding of karma and how confusion arises, i.e. mental intention, cause and effect, and confusion over the experience of appearances to mind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purification of mental intentions from unwholesome to beatific states is one of the most essential realizations and practices of Dharma, followed by the steady recognition of non-clinging awareness and great love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many methods of purification of karmic formations and the confusion over our experiences. We will start with tuning up attentiveness and recollection of our experience. The varied methods are suitable to different types of personalities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Ortisei, Lama Webber will explain and gradually give practices of different approaches culminating in a Vajrasattva practice from Padmasambhava and a transmission of White Manjusri and Sarasvati by Rinchen Puntsog with a White Manjusri empowerment from the Drikung Kagyu tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dana for the Teacher<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As is traditional, the teachings of Buddha Dharma are offered freely \u2013 Lama Gyaltsen receives no fee. The course fee only covers the teacher’s expenses during his European Tour (accommodation, food, travel and medicine).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, there is an opportunity for participants to show their gratitude for the teachings and to help support the teacher. As a guideline, a minimum of EUR 20 per class is suggested. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teacher\u2019s Biography<\/strong>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lama Mark Webber (Lama Yongdu Chokyi Gyaltsen) has been studying, meditating, and teaching Buddha-dharma for almost fifty years. For thirty years, his main root teacher was the great Ven. Namgyal Rinpoche who taught all three cycles of the Buddha\u2019s teachings, including Abhidhamma, Vipassana in the lineage of Mah\u0101si Say\u0101daw, generation and completion stage practices of the Tantrayana and Mahamudra\/Dzogchen of many lineages, especially of the Karma Kagyu and Sakya.

Under the guidance and transmissions of the late Drikung Kyabje Lho Ontul Rinpoche and requests of H.E. Lho Karma Ratna Rinpoche,\u00a0Lama Webber has been teaching principally the richness of the Drikung Mahamudra, Drikung Dzogchen Yangzab and Orgyen Nuden Dorje Dzogchen traditions, transmissions of pith texts of Padmasmabhava, Je Gampopa,\u00a0Jamg\u00f6n Ju Mipham,\u00a0Patrul Rinpoche and Shantideva\u2019s\u00a0Bodhisattvacary\u0101vat\u0101ra a transmission from Amnyi Trulchung Rinpoche.

He has a deep and long-term interest in the sciences and collaborates in marine biology research and the arts which he integrates with the teaching of Buddhism. Lama Webber is a founding board director of the national ecological research institute IMERSS (imerss.org<\/a>)

Lama Webber\u2019s compassionate activities demonstrate a profound commitment to freeing beings from innumerable suffering states. His emphasis with practitioners and students is on uncovering pure Dharma to reveal its extraordinary benefits and share the great joy of its deep study, meditative practices and integration into all aspects of our lives.
